About Low Dose Naltrexone:

Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) is a specially compounded formulation of naltrexone, provided in much lower doses than those used for licensed indications. LDN is currently unlicensed and is prepared as a bespoke medicine to meet individual patient needs.

LDN is being researched for its potential benefits in a range of conditions, including immune system modulation, chronic pain, and certain inflammatory disorders. While LDN is not licensed for these uses, some patients and clinicians have reported that it may help with symptoms in conditions such as fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, Crohn’s disease, and other autoimmune or chronic pain conditions. However, robust clinical evidence is still emerging, and results may vary.

Important Information:

  • This product is a compounded, unlicensed medicine, prepared to order by our specialist partner pharmacy.

What is the LDN Starter Pack?

The LDN (Low Dose Naltrexone) Starter Pack is a specially designed course of compounded naltrexone capsules, provided in gradually increasing strengths.

Developed to help patients begin LDN therapy safely and comfortably, the pack supports a stepwise titration process under the supervision of a healthcare professional.

The starter pack helps your body get used to low dose naltrexone by starting on a low dose and gradually titrating up to a maintenance dose. This is the dose that is a happy compromise between the benefits obtained from the LDN and side effects, with one of the more bizarre ones being, vivid dreams.

Each pack contains six different strengths—0.5mg, 1mg, 1.5mg, 2mg, 3mg, and 4.5mg—making it easy to follow a tailored dosing schedule recommended by your prescriber.

The LDN Starter Pack provides you with enough low dose naltrexone for your first three months of therapy.

How does the LDN Starter Pack work?

Naltrexone is traditionally used in higher doses for opioid and alcohol dependence, but at low doses, it is thought to act differently in the body. Research suggests that LDN may modulate the immune system and reduce inflammation by temporarily blocking opioid receptors, which in turn may increase the body’s natural production of endorphins [1]. This effect is being studied for its potential to help with various chronic and autoimmune conditions, although more research is needed to fully understand the mechanisms involved.

Who should not take the LDN Capsule Starter Pack?

The LDN Capsule Starter Pack is not suitable for everyone. You should not take LDN if you:

  • Have a known allergy or intolerance to naltrexone or any of the other ingredients in the capsules.
  • Are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, unless specifically advised by your prescriber.
  • Have severe liver disease or acute hepatitis, as naltrexone is processed in the liver.
